Here\u2019s a poem our students wrote on poetry day: Dia da poesia Caro presidente, Foi nosso grande prazer visitar o seu pal\u00e1cio, e principalmente o conhecer! Fic\u00e1mos contentes por nos convidar, E tamb\u00e9m por nos acolher, Divertimo-nos nas atividades, Para al\u00e9m de aprender. De poema em poema, Por seis salas viaj\u00e1mos, Como a Nau Catrineta, que l\u00e1 encontr\u00e1mos. Na atividade do jardim, Havia pistas em envelope de cor, E t\u00ednhamos de ser r\u00e1pidos, Para sermos o vencedor. Bicas, Jantar e Dourada, Imp\u00e9rio, Embaixadores e Jardineiro, Depois o Presidente chegou, E levou-nos o gabinete por fim! 10 Visit\u00e1mos essas malas, Com milhares de anos de Hist\u00f3ria, E tamb\u00e9m por isso este dia, Ficar\u00e1 para sempre na mem\u00f3ria. Tamb\u00e9m gost\u00e1mos muito, Das p\u00e1ginas que nos leu, Fic\u00e1mos surpreendidos, Com os poemas que escolheu. Mas de todas as coisas, O que mais nos marcou, Foi a divertida e humilde pessoa, Que o presidente se nos revelou! On International Poetry Day, we were invited by the President of Portugal to visit the Bel\u00e9m Palace. Our students recited poems and talked with President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa. Our teacher Carla Barbosa\u2019s takeaway: \u201cA lesson on life and humility\u201d.
