In this day and age, Kids’ Yoga is important for children’s physical and mental well-being! Using stories, games, music, pranayama (breaths), relaxation, and meditation, we provide fun-filled classes.
In this activity, we stimulate cooperation and teamwork, cultivate the principles of non-violence, truth, peace, and joy, prepare the body for motor coordination, balance and develop the various forms of intelligence of emotions.
Practicing yoga helps with intellectual assimilation, concentration, focus, self-esteem, and creativity. Children are encouraged to respect and pay attention to their body and what they are feeling, becoming more aware of their being. Besides the immense physical and mental benefits, one of the principles of practicing yoga is respect and honor for oneself, others, and the environment.
Children surrounded by positivity, confidence, joy, love and with body awareness are calmer and happier children.

Artistic Expression is a discipline that explores and enhances expression and innate movement, thus awakening the authenticity and freedom of one’s own speaking body. Through a set of theatrical practices, body and dramatic expression exercises, children experience dynamics / technical and playful exercises appropriate to their respective age group. These allow them to develop various technical and inner aspects, such as rhythm, musicality, discipline, rigor, balance, coordination, flexibility, muscle strength, posture, agility, special notion, body awareness, imagination, creativity, sensitivity, improvisation, verbal and body language, self-confidence, and security in the group.
The main objective is to awaken, explore, and enhance the creative movement of each one as a form of expression, inspiration, and development of ideas, while considering each student’s individuality, sensitivity, and time.

Extracurricular English activities at Raiz aim to develop various skills in this area, in a variety of ways, with a greater emphasis on the development of orality and playful activities. This extracurricular proposal provides students with a reinforcement in their daily learning of this language and offers a more accessible way to complement it. The activities carried out with the older children (1st and 2nd cycles) give the children the opportunity, if their parents so wish, to propose themselves for examination in Cambridge, according to their level, at the end of the school year.
Our school’s teachers are available to assess the level of the children in order to integrate them into one of the ECA classes.

UKL – União de Karaté de Lisboa (Lisbon’s Karate Union – coordinated by Professor Pedro Gonçalves) – offers this modality, which is organized by technical levels, depending on children’s age, graduation, and aptitude for the activity.
There are usually three training / assessment periods per year, complementary to the lessons. In the winter for 1st and 2nd cycle students, in the spring for 2nd cycle students, and in the summer for all students, with the possibility of a final graduation exam. However, due to pandemic-like changes, the various stages may not take place. Parents of children enrolled in this modality will always be informed of them.

The Inventors’ activities are creative and interactive experiences that spark children’s curiosity and innovative spirit. Each session encourages exploration, problem-solving, and collaboration, providing meaningful learning experiences as they create, build, and discover new possibilities. 🚀
