A simple and effective program, organized in a wheel, where Active Learning is the basis of the teaching-learning process.
International Program
Raiz belongs to the international network of HighScope schools.
The program directors participate as speakers in the HighScope International Conference, every year. They participate in international meetings where they study and evaluate HighScope implementations in our changing world, act, and share successes and challenges.
National Program
Raiz follows the curriculum of the Ministry of Education, so any student has direct entry to any other Portuguese school.
Students prepare for and take the national exams and/or assessment tests.
Depending on their native language, students have complementary programs in their non-native language (Portuguese or English), so all students become bilingual.
SEL Program
Social-Emotional Learning Program. According CASEL’s (Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning) guidelines, at all levels of education, Raiz integrates a social-emotional development program that goes hand in hand with the cognitive development program.
Students in SEL programs have better academic outcomes, higher attendance, and a greater tendency to respond positively to adversity.
